RacesSinfinHomeworld (System), and gravity thereof: Where are these critters from? Gravity influences a lot of stuff, so it's important. Physical statisticsBeing an engineered species, Sinfin have no close biological relatives. Created by the Finraetn originally as soldiers, they were later adapted into a legacy species to carry the history and knowledge of the Finraetn to the stars and the people among them. The most commonly accepted legend about the inspiration behind the Sinfin form revolves around an ancient tablet of unknown material found on the Finraetn's moon, detailing a pair of bipedal creatures. Bipedal tetrapod in form, Sinfin have a compact shape designed for both speed in movement and conserving energy when at rest. They possess long, heavy tails for balance and for aiding movement in both aquatic and microgravity environments. Sinfin possess triangular ears that are capable of facing many directions, allowing them the pinpoint sounds quite effectively. Sinfin eyes are forward facing, granting them binocular vision, with squared pupils, and are capable of seeing ultraviolet light, as well as strong infrared radiation to some degree. Sinfin color vision - within the normal spectrum - is worse than a Lielum's, Sinfin being able to discern roughly 4 million colors to a Lielum's 10 million. Sinfin do have sensitive noses and tongues, and can detect scents on a similar level as Terran wolves. Their tongues are quite long, roughly the length of one's arm from elbow to wrist, and a dark brownish-grey in color, covered in small rasps that are raised via muscular action. Sinfin possess four fingers and one thumb on each hand, and three toes on each of their paw-like feet. Each digit ends with a retractable claw, with the toe claws being considerably longer and sharper. Most Sinfin file and trim their finger claws to be dulled, using these claws for precision work. The average Twswryan is around 155cm tall, give or take 3cm, and weighs in at roughly 60kg. Bacanlyan vary much more, but average out to roughly the same. Sinfin gain 5~8cm in height and up to 5kg during maturation into a Twkryamn. Sexual maturity, into a Mwkryan, involves little change in these areas. Tosouryamn have almost exclusively brown hair and fur, with dark brown eyes. Unless specifically produced for work in space or other low-atmosphere environments, Sinfin are somewhat pale skinned, with slight amber tones. During maturation, a Sinfin's hair and eye color will usually change. Sinfin blood uses coboglobin to bind oxygen. Sinfin are also capable of anaerobic respiration for short periods of time, allowing them to work in low oxygen or oxygen-less environments. Diet:Sinfin require 2,800~3,400 kCal worth of energy each day; their bodies store minimal amounts of energy for later use, and a Sinfin can go without food at most 4-5 days. Sinfin require only slightly more water than a Lielum of roughly equal mass. Sinfin are omnivorous in the broadest sense of the term, eating most anything with caloric and nutritional content. Due to the way their bodies handle proteins and enzymes, Sinfin are highly resistant to poisons, toxins, and other forms of harmful proteins and chemicals. Their digestive tract primarily uses a variety of microfauna and enzymes to break down food over stronger acids. Lifecycle:Sinfin usually reproduce through artificial means; roughly 90~95% of the species was born through a recombinant cloning vessel. Typically, they are grown in batches of four, though some ships and situations will vary this number. Sinfin born in this manner are known as Toswryamn, the adjective form being Swxwryat. Sinfin lay eggs naturally, a small, leathery thing with a translucent, white shell. Between 2 and 5 eggs will be laid in a single brood, based on the mother's sex. A naturally born Sinfin baby is known as a Bacanlyan, the adjective form being Zacanlyat. Toswryamn take roughly one Cycle to before they begin maturation into one's adult state, the Twkryamn, a process which takes between 0.3~0.4 cycles to complete, based on nutrition, activity, design, and magical affinity. Ba'anyamn require 6 cycles to match a Tosouryamn in physical development, though then grow and mature at comparable rates. Sinfin pregnancy takes around 0.25 cycles to complete. Sinfin have no secondary sexual characteristics, and even their sexual organs provide no clue as to what sex one would be. Due to this, and their common use of recombinant cloning, Sinfin are often considered sexless. While Sinfin have no genetically set sexes, it isn't true that they are sexless. A Sinfin will adapt to one's chosen mate over a long courting process involving sweeping hormonal changes induced through constant exposure to special pheromones, meaning each Sinfin has its own unique sex. Due to this, Sinfin have no gender roles. Sinfin are hardy creatures, with natural regenerative abilities, durable and redundant biological systems, and resistance to diseases. Thanks to the error checking process of their genome, each gene in triplicate, Sinfin are effectively immune to the aging process outside of maturation. There are several Sinfin known that are over 500 cycles old, reaching as far back as the third generation of "true" Sinfin. Sinfin rate highly on both psionic and magical affinity tests; likely due to being engineered for high proficiency in one or the other. Though magic cannot be imprinted into Sinfin before they are "born", one could awaken into the real world with psionic powers already unlocked.
