Proficiencies

Base Proficiencies: Lacking proficiency incurs a -2 malus to attempts to accomplish and caution/defense rolls with combat proficiencies.

  • Lore - One's learnedness. By itself, the difficulty is high for specifics, but specialization greatly improves accuracy of knowledge.
  • Magical Ability - Proficiency in Witchery; raw talent on its own, it requires specialization for most tasks.
  • Melee Combat - Proficiency in fighting within close quarters.
  • Ranged Aimed Fire - Hitting a target you're actually aiming at from a distance.
  • Ranged Volley Fire - Hitting a general area where a target might be; more useful with explosives or splash type weapons.
  • Resistance – Tolerance to pain, ability to negate harmful effects, and toughness to keep from being put down. Specialization vastly improves efficacy.
  • Synchronization - This is the ability to use Gears and their special abilities.
  • Timing - One's ability to act quickly, without hesitation, and most importantly, with thought.

    • Flying
    • Parkour
  • Appraisal (Skill) – A perception proficiency that reveals information about what you find. Specialization greatly improves efficacy.
    • Combat

    • Traps
  • Artistry [Specified] (Empathy) – Artistry must be specified to a particular style of art, such as Culinary, Dance, Music, Painting, etc.
    • Music [Specified] – As an example, one can further specialize in an artistry style, selecting either a particular genre of music, or instrument.
  • Awareness (Cunning) – A perception proficiency that is based on processing information and discerning what requires attention and tuning out what doesn't for better focus.
  • Charisma (Empathy)
    • Attract
    • Incite
  • Climbing (Athletics)
  • Craft [Specified] (Skill) – Craft must be specified to a particular style of crafting, such as Carpentry, Cooking, Mechanics, etc.
  • Detection (Skill) – A perception proficiency that is based on discerning what is out of place, or finding specific information.
  • Endurance (Athletics) – Being able to push oneself further than normal, thanks to training and technique.

  • Fashion (Empathy) – Putting together pleasing aesthetics.
  • Influence (Will) – Exerting one's own will upon others.
