BasicThMe

Thaumecha are an experimental type of magical prosthetics

Basic Thaumecha

Requires Attunement, special (see text)

Instead of using larger ropes, the technique behind thaumecha limbs employs many small lengths of twine that constrict around a single core. The animating force behind the limbs is tied into the user's own chakras, and so can cause conflict if both limbs of the same type are not made symmetrical and replaced together, considered the primary drawback in using this technique and style. However, all four limbs can be replaced while only using a single attunement slot upon the wearer's magical circuits.

Basic Thaumecha provides the following benefits and penalties:
  • Unarmed Strikes use a d4 for damage.
  • If the legs are replaced, the wearer gains advantage on constitution saves to continue marching, running, or climbing.
  • If the arms are replaced, the wearer can spend a reaction to gain a +2 bonus to AC against the triggering attack.
  • If all four limbs are replaced, the wearer can reduce damage they take by 1, to a maximum of 10 points. This pool is restored by 2d6 if the mending spell is cast, or if tinker's tools are used during a short rest to repair them.
  • The wearer takes disadvantage to checks made to swim or move stealthfully.
