Mission Report: Black Descent
L'Range report: Dictated to Remia
Umm, I have never really had to do this. What do I put here? Well, I think things went okay. Encircling the camp with caltrops to corral them was Near's idea, actually. I would rather only do skirmishes from now on, instead of prolonged assaults; Fenny's injuries should say why. No, I wasn't hurt, nor was Scoots, but that's because we fought like harpies, not like the shortarms did. Oh, that's why I was commander? Anyway, I will not complain if I am not in charge.
I don't have much to say in regards to the Enemy, either Ambrose or the Silver One so far, at least, theorywise. The Silver One will suffer grief for taking Bright Eyes from us, and if "the old hag" has felt loss from this attack, then I am content.
Near Report:
Group tactics need work, but overall the team did well. Communication also needs some work. Fortunately we didn't lose anyone, but came close. I do believe lessons were learned, however. The appearance of the bone machine is worrying; questioning of our captives is imperative in regards to from where it was obtained. As a protobold was piloting it, it may not be from the lizardfolk themselves, but the Silver One seemed to have no contact with Ambrose.
We should send a crew to clean up the mission site and retrieve the bone machine as quickly as possible, both for research purposes and because it is a hazard as it is. The bone machine should also be checked for harmonite upon retrieval.
Fredorig Report:
This was my first time seeing the enemy up close and their tactics. The protobolds are certainly fanatical, and have no care for their own lives or those of their comrades. The Lizardfolk, however, respond within parameters laid in tales of combat against them, when taking into account the lack of escape routes for them, and that they were defending, not raiding in this case. Two lizardfolk were captured, in both cases Zogurt was heavily involved in knocking them out; I secured them due to lack of otherwise useful options.
The skeletron, or bone machine (Near has used both to describe it), lays outside of my expertise; Necromancy is a school I have ignored in my focus on Abjuration. However, given time, and aid from Naeko, we should be able to research it in ways Near has admitted she never did in her first encounters with them. The more I hear about this Ambrose, the more I am intrigued, however - his methods are highly unorthodox, and uses magic in ways I honestly had not considered. While I will never take the mantle of necromancy, I will learn what I can from him.
Rakel's observations
- Having harpies ride on the Lily is convenient for them, and makes sure we have air cover, if we ever need it. Someone's gotta be making balloons other than us!
- Fenny needs to roll in the grass before boarding the Lily, that was a lot of blood! I was a bit scared to tell her, though.
- Dropping caltrops worked, but not how we expected it would.
- That kobold skeleton thing was goofy, it looks more suited for heavy labor than fighting.
- Scoots did a great job tying up lizardmen while Fenny butchered them.
- Lizardman running at me was scary. How long until they figure out that the envelope is easy to pierce?
Other Comments: Dictated to Remia
- Zogurt kick more booty than boobcanary!
- Fennel did more ass kicking! Stupid ork had to use axe!
- Don't let Fenny lie, Ayotnom saved her by taking out the last lizardood~
- Scoots was useless chickun! Bawkbawkbawk! Ow! I'm still tender there!
- Ayotnom learned important lesson about charging into a group. Only Near can do that and not gain a few extra holes.
Remaining tasks/to do:
- Interrogate Lizardfolk captives
- Attempt retrieval of "skeletron" remains
- Clean mission site of shrapnel
