UFOTheory

Various IFB members and other agents in the region have come up with their own ideas about the nature of the Enemy. Theories about Uninvited Falling Objects abound: a few are recorded here.

Near's actually thinking Ambrose had a partner (she doesn't know about Avara) that gave him knowledge on the Mind Magic that her other half has. As far as she knows, it only works on the same type of creature as the "Queen"; So she believes that the Silver One is some form of dragon or reptilian. Their devotion to the Silver One also resembles how her derps kind of are, though it's obviously a different sort of devotion than hers. actually seen the Silver One now, and knows her to be a silver dragon ancient enough to require life support. She believes it's simply a matter of time before the "Old Hag" dies, and may have already been killed by her "Little Princess". The current problem lies with the lizardfolk, currently, and making it up to the cave at the top of the World Mountain to reach the Silver One again. Near believes it is unnecessary to bomb her, and we can make the attempt armed normally.

Naeko believes that the Shadow Elves are involved, possibly with Air or Aether Eelementals trying to reopen the Pneumos Gates under the Broken Lands for revenge, and who are controlling a colony of kobolds left on the Iron Star presumably because they were easy to get to. Naeko attempts to hide that this thought has her completely pants-shatteringly terriffied.

Toma thinks that it's critters coming out of the World-Mountain, and as to why they have swirly flying things, he never heard of a nonmagical flying thing until last month and now he sleeps next to one so why can't kobolds have them.

Karin figures that the Kiyats have finally managed to strike a deal with demonic powers, and are being smarter at it than they were the last time, so the reptilian nature of the Enemy is a misdirection.

The Uighurs believe it to be a Thyatian plan to force Ethengarans to change their traditional ways of warfare and ask for foreign help.

The Kiyats say the Enemy is a silver dragon, perhaps the last one left, trying to reclaim its domain. They point out that it's not their doing.

The Bortaks blame the dwarves: no way kobolds and lizardmen can invent flying machines. This isn't preventing trade, however.

General Zog thinks that this started happening when Near returned, so it's her doing so that she can make it look like she is loyal.

Near has confirmed that the Enemy is in fact the last Silver Dragon alive. She is ancient, and needs to conquer Ethengar and gain enough worshippers to ascend to godhood before her life support system fails. The Enemy minions are soulless homunculi created from her essence and the biomass she harvests from the lands below. Much like in bards' stories, she roosts at the top of the World-Mountain, and it would take an incredibly skilled team of dungeoneers to brave Boatmurdered and ascend the World Mountain spire to enter her lair. So, Near has decided to just throw bombs at her.
