Backstory/Concept Vegetables, mostly, they had plenty of meat still available, and the sounds of the butchery room indicated that her housemate was busy preparing more. The bottles of blood within the fridge were moved to make room for the soda she decided to splurge on. And with all the food put away in its proper place, Elizabeth looked around the dining area that was now the living room. A set of brand new lingerie, and an opened package and letter, sat upon the small and crude coffee table. She didn't need to read the note to know what it was for. Rent was due soon. Her stomach twisted and turned at the thought. The size of the bra clearly indicated the lingerie wasn't for her, and she nearly slapped herself for daring to be relieved at that. She gritted her teeth, her oversized canines digging into the inner flesh of her mouth. The sounds of butchering had stopped. Akane wiped her face off with a mostly clean rag as Elizabeth entered the cold room that functioned both as meat storage and the disassembly area. The meat hanging nearby was no longer recognizable from what it had been before; skin and organs removed and fully parted out into small pieces to begin the aging process for the larger chunks. She tossed the rag onto a nearby counter, where a jar filled with fresh blood sat. It was still open, the surface rippling in rhythm of a heartbeat. "Welcome back! I guess I got carried away," the red-haired woman grinned. Her smile was frank and innocent, even if her face still had blood upon it, and the coveralls she wore were stained with a variety of bodily fluids both old and new. "I got a call in about a lead to a new outbreak, and decided to make some room in the kennels. Don't worry, I left your favorite alone." "Eh? Oh, so that's why. Why don't you go shower and I'll handle cleaning up the kennels? They're probably going to be afraid of you coming in there," the slightly younger blonde woman offered. "I'll join you afterward, it shouldn't take long." "Hehee. As long as you don't grab a snack from them. I have a nice dinner planned, afterall." Akane left, still grinning, doffing the messy clothes into a basket just at the door before continuing upstairs to the makeshift bedroom and bathroom above the storage room. Elizabeth grabbed her own coveralls as she moved to the second exit of the cold room. In the middle of changing, she saw herself in the glass window of the door, the darkness causing it to act as a mirror. She gasped, and wrenched her eyes closed. When she opened them again, she saw herself again, and not a horrid monster. No, her reflection was not of a gaunt beast with glowing red eyes and drenched in blood. Nor was it a bloated pig of a human being. She would not allow herself to think that way anymore. The figure was a slender woman, maybe a little broad shouldered... Most certainly not a man, no matter what those pricks tried to say. With a sigh, and several deep breaths, she resumed changing her clothes. The kennels were quiet, even considering only three of the four cages were now occupied. Though the occupants were not what one might normally expect. These cages were fairly large, though short; within them were girls, their arms and legs bound to make them quadrupedal and otherwise nude. Their expressions were slightly glazed, with only the smallest hint of an intellect within their skulls anymore. Akane's eyes assured they were no longer human, but Elizabeth was still not used to the thought. These former lycanthropes were human before, but stopped being so as soon as the disease had taken hold in their minds. Elizabeth easily lifted the girls one-handed as she sprayed the floor down, hefting them under her arm when spreading new hay and blankets. It was a fairly quick process thanks to being able to skip a few steps just due to her strength. Elizabeth was surprised at how quickly she grew used to the changes in her body. Though not the ones in her mind; even now, she thought of these girls as just cows. Blood and meat to be exploited. Was that her vampirism talking, or had Akane also messed with her companion's brain? She decided not to think too much about it. The sleazeball in the shape of a rotund, socially inept man-child would arrive soon. She might as well get cleaned up herself, and handle the unpleasantness that she could actually do something about. And while it was true that she agreed to both deals, only one of the two she was truly okay with. Character Goals
