AdventureSeedsThe Legion wants to thwart Objectivist efforts in a settlement somewhere in Texas. "We're trying to liberate a village, but their Objectivist rulers have convinced them that we are going to steal all their stuff, as opposed to them who just fleece them for it. We're going to try to negotiate again tomorrow. Tonight your assignment is to infiltrate the Objectivists' bunker train, steal all their gold, and use a mortar to shoot the gold coins all over the place! Use your slings and saps as we don't want anyone to actually die." Why the trouble to prevent casualties? A ruler of a forest town in the Rockies has posted a bounty for a brigand who keeps harassing his tax collector. The people of the outlying farms, however, consider the brigand a hero -- he takes from the rich to give to the poor. However, since the beginning of his activity, a handful of farmers' daughters have disappeared... Zombies are attacking travelers in Louisiana - and two towns have been evacuated with barely a shot fired when huge mobs of shambling, ragged undead appeared on the horizon. Is this the Apocalypse? A new form of warfare? A legitimate illness that someone is dressing up as a zombie plague? The local bokor, Tia Naomi, would probably help if she hadn't disappeared about a month before... A collection of farms and scattered villages in Pennsylvania, some Amish some not, may lose their loose independence when all the local wells save one have suddenly been found full of arsenic and other industrial byproducts. The well's owner has done her best to not take advantage (or has she?), but there is only so much clean water to go around, and the neighboring lord refuses to sell clean water unless it comes with political strings attached. Renzo and Lucia, a couple in an small New Jersey village, are planning to wed. The parish priest, Don Abbondio, is walking home on the eve of the wedding when he is accosted by two flattops who warn him not to perform the marriage, because the local baron, Don Rodrigo, has his eye on Lucia. Renzo asks for help, whether it be by arranging a shootout or running away without putting his or Lucia's family in danger of retribution. This all sounds... oddly familiar? Two towns have decided that a war would leave both settlements decimated, and thus the ownership of a large patch of peat moss will be settled by a tournment. However, at the last minute the Objectivists have entered a champion, noting that the tournment's rules do not prevent it. Out-of-towners would be very welcome to perform surveillance and sabotage. A priest or pastor has been all but run out of town when a new cult, called Devourism and preaching contentedness with one's lot and leading an unremarkable life to avoid rousing the attention of an angry God, was declared the official religion by the landlord. This cult is slowly but surely spreading in communities run by cynical rulers, since it makes the peasants easier to control. What is really behind it? A group of explorers have discovered a hidden cache of pre-collapse technology in a mountainous region of Colorado. The Objectivists want it for themselves, seeing it as a way to solidify their power and dominance, while the Legion sees it as a way to restore some of the old world's technological advancements. The explorers are caught in the middle and must decide whether to keep the discovery hidden, give it to one of the factions, or use it to improve the lives of those around them. A family of farmers in the Midwest is being harassed by a group of raiders who demand a percentage of their crops as tribute. The family is hesitant to seek help from any of the nearby towns, fearing that their neighbors will turn against them for attracting the attention of the raiders. A stranger passing through the area offers to help, but they must first determine whether this person can be trusted or if they have their own motives for getting involved. A group of travelers are making their way across the Great Plains when they stumble upon an abandoned research facility. Inside, they find a group of scientists who have been living off the land and working on their own experiments since the collapse. The scientists reveal that they have made a breakthrough in renewable energy: geothermal spikes made of Rearend Metal rails as they are. But the Objectivists and the Legion both have their sights set on the technology. The travelers must decide whether to keep the scientists' discovery hidden or use it to help shape the future of the continent. A small town in the South is plagued by a series of strange occurrences that many believe are the work of witches. The local church leader calls for a witch hunt, but a group of outsiders, including a Native American shaman and a wandering monk, believe that there may be a more rational explanation for the events. As tensions rise, the outsiders must work quickly to uncover the truth before more innocent people are accused and persecuted. A coastal town is being terrorized by a sea monster that has been attacking fishing boats and devouring their crews. The townsfolk believe that the monster is the embodiment of an ancient curse placed on their village, and they turn to a group of adventurers to find a way to stop it once and for all. A mining town is flooded after a nearby dam collapses, trapping a group of survivors in the flooded mine tunnels. As they struggle to find a way out, they uncover a dark secret about the mine's past that threatens to destroy them all. A group of traders must navigate a treacherous river in the dead of winter to deliver vital supplies to a remote town. As they battle the elements and fend off dangerous predators, they must also contend with a band of ruthless bandits who will stop at nothing to steal their cargo. |
