Archiella

A large, roughly circular heighliner bearing a tower in the center, filled with crystals of various types. The Tower can bestow the power of its crystals to those that know the proper codes and can invoke strong enough feelings or desires to it, allowing the use of magic without physically holding a crystal. This technique typically takes a while to use, though it can have surprisingly strong effects.

Archiella considers itself its own canton. The population is fairly small, and supports itself with hydroponics and trading. This heighliner is thought to be part of the original Invasion fleet, perhaps a transport ship that was repaired. The last known examples of Invader technology can be found here, although the heighliner itself does not seem to be able to leave the upper clockwise Stream. Strangely, more than 4/5ths of the children born to mothers that lived mostly upon Archiella are born female.

Due to Invader influence, Archiellans have developed a very unique culture and religion - historians from other lands theorize that they are culturally if not physically descended by humans that the Invaders experimented with.

(Stereotype: Laputa)

Heighliner Name: Archiella

Inspiration: Laputa, Ar Tonelico

Population: Moderate for a land, large city

Religion: Tryacticism, with the Harmonist Sect holding slightly more political power

Capitol: Archiella is essentially one single city, and has no capitol city. The Tower is the neutral meeting point for government officials.

Economy: Internally, favors, labor, and similar are used among the people, but Harmonists will use money, called "Tabs". Oblivists will accept either, but rarely actually track who owes what. Ataxians almost never accept tabs, but will from tourists and those they may never see again.

Government: Theocratic Council formed by several members of each of the three sects of Tryacticism.

Main Holidays: Archiella uses a slightly different calendar for religious observations, with each "year" being 3 cycles or seasons, each comprised of 3 months of 39 days each. The Oblivist season of Sephafra is at the start of the year, followed by the Ataxian season of Hynnelira, and then finally the Harmonist season of Cyuriora.

The Light Festival/Ouwuafhau Wassa: Occurs at the end of each of the three cycles, signifying the change in season. At the start of the week, lights (banners during the day) representing the end of the season are displayed with more being lit as the week goes on. The colors of season's end are Violet for Sephafra, Green for Hynnelira, and White for Cyuriora. On the final three days of the week, the lights and banners are replaced with the colors of the new season; Orange for Hynnelira, Blue for Cyuriora, and Red for Sephafra. On the first night of the new season, all the previous season's lights have gone, and a set of songs are performed to commemorate the faded season and the arrival of the new. A rather low-key holiday, but each community has their own little rituals during it; many involve birds of some sort, due to the similarity of Light and Bird in the language.

Impression vs Reality:

Geography: Archiella is an ancient heighliner, rumored to be an invader ship, and is disk-shaped with a tower extending above and below the middle point of the disk. Space is tight on the heighliner, and nearly every portion has been alloted to a specific use; even if some are currently empty. Gardens and greenery are very common sights, with as much available space used for growing food as they could spare.
