Thruster

  • Thruster
    • A Thruster component may be used during any burn other than Liftoff and Orbital Insertion. In order to make a burn, you must expend one unit of Fuel for every ten Mass of the Spacecraft. Fuel expended in this manner no longer counts against your Mass, as if ejected into space.
    • A Thruster must have at least 1 Mass for every 10 Mass of the Capsule it is attached to. In order to attempt a Lunar Landing/Takeoff, the Thruster must weigh 1 Mass for every 2 Mass of the Capsule it is attached to. A Thruster which has at least as much Mass as the Capsule it is attached to may make a Planetary Landing and makes the entire spacecraft above it Reusable! (This represents something like the Space Shuttle, with wings etc.)
    • FAIL! - In case of a Fail, the burn does not happen, the Fuel is still used up, but you may still attempt if you have Fuel and working Thrusters.
    • BOOM! - In case of a Boom, the burn does not happen, the Thruster is disabled, and the attached Capsule loses 2 Reliability (1 Boom & 1 Fail) for this flight. All Thrusters of this type lose reliability (-3/-3).
